Your generous gift will help us fund our mission to help homeless animals in need. Together, we can make a difference.
Fiddlehead is a soft and sweet orange kitty boy who came to us from a pretty terrible situation when he was just a baby. He and his siblings have been cared for and monitored by the staff here at FCAS for months, and as they have grown, it became apparent that Fiddlehead was special.
He has a deformity in his legs that causes him major mobility issues. He is otherwise very healthy, and we recently scheduled a very important surgery for his legs to be fixed. The sooner, the better, so his little body can grow and heal into a nice. strong one!
When a special animal comes to us, and needs our help in this way, we reach out to you - our community of animal lovers - for your help in making this happen. FCAS is a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter, and while donations and grants make it possible to take care of the animals here, with basic necessities and health needs, Fiddlehead's surgery is estimated for up to $3000, which is pretty far above and beyond what we can typically provide. We need you - he needs you - to help give him a chance for a long and fulfilling life!
You will see this sweet face a lot in the next few weeks, until we reach our goal! Please share with all of your animal-loving friends, as well! Thank you so much, on behalf of Fiddlehead and the rest of the animals here at Franklin County Animal Shelter, for all you do!
Your donation will go directly to Fiddlehead's surgery. Click the button below to go to the GoFundMe page, or shop in our merch store for Fiddlehead t-shirts or a magnet, and all proceeds will be added to the fund!

Sponsoring a kennel supports the care of our furry friends! Each kennel sponsorship supports the care of our furry friends for either one, three, six, or 12 months. For less than $1 a day, you help us offer a second chance to a special dog or cat, providing it with shelter, health care and an opportunity to be adopted into a permanent, loving home.
Sponsorships make great gifts, too! When you become a kennel sponsor, a personalized kennel sign with your name, your company’s name, or in memory of a beloved family member, special friend or cherished pet will be placed on your choice of a cat or dog kennel. Your kennel sign will be seen by the many people who visit our shelter annually. In addition, you’ll have the pride of knowing that you are supporting an effective organization that protects and cares for more than 1,500 homeless animals every year.
Kennel sponsorships are available for:
You can drop by the shelter to purchase in person (and we'll give you a gift card for the recipient then, too!) or follow the link below to our online kennel sponsorship portal.

Your planned gift to the Franklin County Animal Shelter makes a powerful impact on our ability to maintain and expand adoption, education, and veterinary services for our region’s companion animals and their caregivers. Planned or deferred gifts can take many forms: life insurance proceeds, a portion of an estate, or income from a trust. Each type of planned gift provides unique tax benefits to you, the donor, and your beneficiaries. Planned gifts should be made with the advice of your legal counsel. If you have any questions that we can help you with regarding planned giving, please don’t hesitate to call us at (207)778-2638, or email our Media and Fundraising Coordinator, Kalista at kalista@fcanimalshelter.org
We keep our wish list on Amazon updated weekly with items we need on a daily basis (bleach, cat litter, paper towels) and specialty items (Royal Canin mama and kitten food, cat toys, grain-free dog food, leashes), so be sure to check it out to see how you can help your furry friends! Bonus: you don't have to leave your couch to help!
P.S. If you shop using Amazon Smile, we get a donation from Amazon for all eligible items, too, so it's a win-win for the shelter!
