2020 Virtual Strut for Strays

Due to COVID-19, we have decided this year that it will be safer for our supporters and community members if we have a VIRTUAL Strut for Strays.  

What does a VIRTUAL Strut for Strays mean?  

Glad you asked! 

Going virtual means that you can run or walk a 5K (which is 3.1 miles) with your dog, your family, by yourself, your friends, your co-workers... whoever you are comfortable participating with AND you can run or walk ANYWHERE that you are comfortable doing so, all while supporting your furry friends here at the Franklin County Animal Shelter. 

Registration fees are the same as last year and include an official 2020 Strut for Strays logo t-shirt designed by our very own Catherine Chapman!  

Ages 13 and up:   $25

 Ages 12 and under:  $20

How does it work?  IT'S EASY!  You can register here online by before August 31st, 2020!    

  Not computer savvy?  That's ok!  Call the shelter at 207-778-2638 and we'd be happy to help you register, and we can take a credit card payment over the phone.

Not from around here, but still want to register, participate, and receive a t-shirt?  

Not a problem!  We can ship your t-shirt(s) to you!

 (Please note, Shipping and Handling fees will apply if shipping is required- thank you for understanding).

As a registered participant, we would LOVE it if you would wear your official 2020 Strut for Strays t-shirt and send us pictures while you are performing your virtual 5K.  We are planning on having a dedicated Facebook photo album and page on our Website so we can share your photos of your participation and support!

So what is the plan??  When do I do my VIRTUAL Strut for Strays 5k run or walk??  Glad you asked!!  

At any time during the week of October 11th through October 17th, throw on your 2020 Strut for Strays logo t-shirt, grab your dog, grab your significant other, grab your kids, grab your siblings, grab your roommate, grab your best friend, grab your co-workers AND don't forget your camera, and GO!!!  And then send us the photos so we can share on our social media pages!!

If you would like, we are also offering additional Strut for Strays apparel that you can order during your registration.

Additional Short-sleeved T-shirt: $12 (XXL and up: $14)

 Long-sleeved T-shirt: $16 (XXL and up: $18)  

 Hoodie Sweatshirt: $35 (XXL and up: $37)  

 Logo Baseball Jersey: $16 (XXL and up: $18)  

 Bandanna: $10  

Due to the nature of this event, registration will close on August 31st.  We will be placing our logo apparel order on September 1st and unfortunately will be unable to add to it after that day.

We wouldn't be able to take such amazing care of our animals at the shelter without the amazing support of our community, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you!  We know that things are different, and we are going to miss being able to get together at Titcomb Mountain this year with all of you, BUT that will just make next year so much more awesome when we can hopefully all be together again for the 2021 Strut for Strays!  Thank you everyone for understanding!
